Superintendent Michael Simeck has announced his recommendation of Mr. Barry Rodgers as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, Technology and Assessment K-12, effective July 1, 2015. Mr. Rodgers has served as the Principal of Lake Forest High School for the past two years. He will fill the position vacated by Lauren Fagel who was recently named the Principal at Glenbrook South High School.
In celebration of Mardi Gras, 5th and 6th grade students played a learning game, made masks, and tried traditional Mardi Gras food. All students are from Ms. Engelkemeir's French Class.
At the March Board of Education meeting, members of our administration presented reports describing changes to our elementary world language offerings and the new middle school schedule. These modifications will take effect next year. I would like to thank all of our parents and staff who attended meetings over the past few months to provide input on these two important decisions. Attention Fourth Grade Parents... Get a Jump-Start on 5th Grade on Tuesday, May 12, 9:30-11 am in the DPM Cube.
A panel of seasoned LFHS parents will answer questions about their experiences with the social transition to 9th grade on Thursday, April 23, 9:00-10:00a.m. in the Raymond Moore Auditorium at LFHS East Campus.

Congratulations to the APT Executive Board Members who were voted in at the APT's Annual Meeting on March 11. These individuals will serve in these positions for 2015-17 school years: Executive APT President - Julie Pasinato; Executive APT Treasurer - Tara Janos; Executive APT Communications Secretary - Connie Hollingsworth; DPM APT President - Jennifer Karras; and Everett APT President - Amy Collis.
The DPM Solo and Ensemble was a success!! We had over 70 students participate in this event earning scores in the Superior and Excellent categories. It was a remarkable evening with such musical passion and commitment towards excellence! Great job students!
These nine Lake Forest students attended the American Choral Directors Association National Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah from February 25-February 28. These singers were selected to participate in National Honor Choirs. Only 300 women and 300 men were selected to be part of these selective choirs.
