  • DPM Students Accepted to National Choir

    Congratulations to the following Deer Path Middle School students who were accepted to the American Choral Directors Association National Choir. Only about 10% of those who auditioned were accepted. These students will have the opportunity to travel to Salt Lake City, Utah from February 25th - February 28th and perform three separate concerts in front of thousands of choir directors from across the country. Mary and Sydney (6th Grade), Lila and Priya (7th Grade), and Katelyn, Claire, Adam, and Emerson (8th Grade).

  • DPM Students Selected to Perform in ILMEA Orchestra

    Four DPM students were selected to perform in the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) District 7 Junior High Honor Orchestra. They performed in a Music Festival held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Maine West High School. Pictured are (L to R) Priya (viola), Katelyn (cello), Isabella (violin), and Sean (bass).

  • Choices and Consequences

    Students from Ms. Kolar's 5th grade class are participating in a novel study of "Red Kayak" and "The Mailbox" called Choices and Consequences. In both novels young adults make choices that have serious consequences to themselves and others. The Honorable Valerie Boettle Ceckowski, Circuit Judge for Lake County, visited with students and answered their questions about the juvenile justice system and foster care. Two weeks ago Detective Beach from the Waukegan Police Department came to answer their questions.
