Lake Forest 67 - Mundelein 38
The Scouts won on the road Wednesday night beating the Mustangs of Mundelein 67-38. The Scouts were led by Michael Pasquella, who finished the game with 12 points. The Scouts are off until next Wednesday when they host the Waukegan Bulldogs.
Lake Forest 35 - Zion Benton 42
The Scouts lost a close one to the Zee Bees on Friday night 42-35. The Scouts were led by Michael Pasquella who finished the game with 9 points. The Scouts travel to Mundelein next Wednesday to take on the Mustangs.
Lake Forest 58 - Lake Zurich 48
The Scouts traveled to Lake Zurich on Thursday night and took down the Bears 58-48. In the win the Scouts were led by Mike Pasquella who finished the game with 14 points. The Scouts are back in action next Friday when they host the Zee-Bees of Zion-Benton.
The Sophomore Scouts took down the Warriors of Deerfield on Saturday night 56-52. Andrew Crawford had a huge game scoring 24 points and making 2 clutch free throws at the end of the game. The Scouts are back in action on 12/26 when they travel to St. Viator for their holiday tournament.
Joe Harmsen, Head Sophomore Boys Basketball
Coach Harmsen has been Head Sophomore Coach at LFHS since the 2013-14 season. Previously, Coach Harmsen was the Scouts' Varsity Assistant Coach for 12 years. Joe is a Fond du lac, Wisconsin native. He was a top-100 recruit coming out of high school and played his college basketball at Northwestern University under Ricky Birdsong and Kevin O’Neil. Joe coached at the collegiate level for four years. He also worked at the University of Dayton as Graduate Assistant where he developed the Flyers interior players, and he was also an assistant coach at Concordia University Chicago for three years.
Joe is married to Maggie Ross Harmsen and resides in Pleasant Prairie, WI with his sons, Joseph and Jonah.
He received his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Northwestern University and his Master's in Secondary Education from Dayton & Concordia University Chicago. Coach Harmsen teaches in the Special Education Department at LFHS.
Graham O'Connor-Brooks, Assistant Sophomore Boys Basketball
Coach O'Connor-Brooks has been a member of the basketball coaching staff at LFHS since 2011. He is a 2006 graduate of LFHS and 2010 graduate of the University of Iowa. Coach O'Connor-Brooks works with both guards and forwards and helps assist the program with scouting and film breakdown.
He currently works in the Special Education Department at LFHS.
