04/24/18 Lake Forest 1 - Libertyville 0 Ainsley Allan scored the only goal of the game in the first half of the contest. The Scouts played great defense for the remainder of the game while goalkeeper Sophia Divagno came up with crucial saves throughout the game.
04/17/18 Lake Forest 0 - Stevenson 1 Lake Forest lost to a very energetic Stevenson team last night in a hard-fought game. The Scouts kept the Patriots at Bay with strong play from GK Cassidy Shaul, who had to come up big on a breakaway in the second half to keep the game at 0-0. Katie Bondoc was also a player of note as she was quite active in the midfield developing the attack while pestering the Patriot players defensively.
Stevenson capitalized midway through the second half with the only goal of the match. Mary Gregg, Ashley Bufe, Elise Stanley, and Ainsley Allan all had some good play in the final 10 minutes, but the Scouts couldn't put one past the Patriot keeper.
The Scouts are now 2-4-1 and face Warren at home on Thursday at 4:30.
03/15/18 Lake Forest 1 - Hersey 0 Lake Forest faced a well-organized Hersey squad on a cold, cold, cold, night. The first half had strong midfield possession from the Scouts featuring the play of Kylie Murray, Dimi Schweitzer, Camy Esplin, Alex Flynn, Katie Bondoc, and Lindsey Asmussen. Lake Forest was dangerous on several corner kicks before Leland Keller finally knocked a Schweitzer service past the Huskie keeper.
The second half was even colder and with each team having a couple of good chances. Sophia DiVagno earned her second shutout of the year as the Scouts are now 2-1. They take on Highland Park next Thursday.
03/14/18 Lake Forest 0 - Carmel 1 The Scouts met up with a very talented squad from Carmel Catholic. Lake Forest kept it scoreless at half through some excellent defense by Camy Esplin, Leland Keller, and Maggie Mick. However, in the second half, the Corsairs were able to get one past the staunch goalkeeping of Sophia DiVagno. Lake Forest is now 1-1.
March 12, 2018 Lake Forest 3 - Palatine 0 Senior Kylie Murray opened the scoring for the Scouts just six minutes into the 2018 campaign. She disposed of a Pirate defender and then blasted a bullet past the keeper for the 1-0 lead. Ainsley Allan doubled the lead six minutes before halftime with a great shot off a perfect cross from Elise Stanley. Margaux Miller took off towards goal before laying a perfectly weighted pass into Ashley Bufe's run, and Ashley hammered home the third goal for the Scouts.
Leland Keller, Kate Gotta, Maggie Mick, Allison Weber, Lilly Bryant, and Camy Esplin all helped goalkeeper Sophia DiVagno earn the shutout.
Lake Forest is 1-0-0 and plays Carmel on Wednesday night at 7:15 in the Carmel Quad.
04/24/17 Lake Forest 3 - St. Charles North 4 Cassidy Joyce delivered the clinching goal as the North Stars topped Lake Forest 3-2 in the penalty-kick shootout to earn a 4-3 thrilling win in the I Grow Chicago bracket championship game of the PepsiCo Showdown at DePaul's Wish Field.
04/15/17 Lake Forest 2 - Metea Valley 1 The tenth-seeded Scouts defeated the third-seeded Metea Valley in an intense contest last Saturday. As a result, Lake Forest advances to the championship game of the 2017 PepsiCo Showdown on Sunday, April 23, at 3:40 PM at DePaul University's Wish Field.
Ty Stuckslager has been the Head Girls Varsity coach since 1994. He is also the Varsity Boys Assistant coach and the Assistant Director of Coaching for Lake Forest Soccer Association (LFSA). He currently coaches a U14 Select team for LFSA. Ty is a former Illinois ODP coach and currently holds a USSF national license. As a player, he played soccer at the Division 1 level and then professionally.
He received his BS degree in Elementary Education from Western Michigan University and his MS degree in Curriculum and Design from National Louis University. He is currently a middle school math teacher at Lake Forest Country Day School.
Coach Douglass has been coaching girls soccer at LFHS since 2006 and is also Sophomore Head coach for boys soccer. Prior to that, he coached at Westminster Christian Academy and at Hope Soccer Camp. Steve has specialized in training the goalkeepers since 2005 and is the goalkeeping trainer for Lake Forest Soccer Association. He also trained the Lake Forest College Men's and Women's goalkeepers in 2014.
Steve received his Bachelor's degree from Wheaton College and his Master's degree from Webster University. He teaches Video Production in the New Media Department at LFHS.
Coach Laughlin joined the coaching staff in 2013. Prior to that she played at the competitive club level and was a player for both Coach Stuckslager and Coach Douglass for 3 years as she attended Lake Forest High School and graduated in 2008.
Coach Laughlin received her BS in English from Santa Clara University and later received her MS in Secondary Education from Loyola University Chicago. Coach Laughlin teaches English at Lake Forest High School.
