During the first 7 weeks of school, all students engaged in lessons to provide them skills to resolve conflicts. The lessons are from Foundations: A Proactive and Positive Behavior Support System (Sprick, Sprick & Rich, 2014). All District 67 schools have been using Foundations as a framework for creating a positive school environment for students and staff. The conflict resolution lessons, or Stop-Think-Plan (STP) Program, are part of improving safety, managing conflict, and reducing bullying.
To ensure that holiday parties and other classroom celebrations are safe for all students, please review the expectations for classroom parties carefully.
Alice McGinty will be visiting each of the three District 67 elementary schools during October 16 - 18 thanks to a generous grant provided by the Spirit of 67.
