Lake Forest School District 67 and Lake Forest Community High School District 115 practice Integrated Pest Management, a program that combines preventative techniques, non-chemical pest control methods, and the appropriate use of pesticides with a preference for products that are least harmful to human health and the environment. The term “pesticide” includes insecticides, herbicides, rodenticides, and fungicides.

The School Districts maintain a registry of people who wish to be notified prior to pesticide applications. To be included in this registry, please email Carol White at cwhite@lfschools.net and you will be notified prior to the use of pesticides. Please specify if you want to be contacted by phone or email.

EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN

Emergency Quick Reference Chart

Emergency Response Terminology

  • Drill - A rehearsal of the procedures to be followed in emergency situations.
  • Evacuation - Occupants exit building and move to designated areas. Staff and students are accounted for and held in position until further notice.
  • Lockdown - All activities cease. Students and staff are secured inside classrooms, offices or other spaces.
  • Lockout - No outdoor activities or outside access to building. Indoor activities can proceed as scheduled.
  • Reunification - A formal process to reunite students with parents/guardians at a secondary site.
  • Reverse Evacuation - All students and staff are moved into the building and held pending further instructions.
  • Run-Hide-Defend - A Lockdown alternative during an “Active Shooter” situation. Individuals should “Run” from the area of imminent danger, “Hide” in a secure location or “Defend” themselves by any means possible.
  • Severe Weather Response - Building occupants are moved to lower levels, avoiding areas with outside windows, doors or large open spaces. The “kneel, cover and hold” position is assumed until an “All Clear” is issued.
  • Shelter-in-Place - Students and staff are held in classrooms or other designated areas. No movement in hallways. Instruction time in classrooms can proceed as scheduled.

Emergency Responses may be inclusive or progressive. (I.e., Lockdown would include a Lockout. A Reverse Evacuation would precede a Shelter-In-Place, etc.)
