Lake Forest Community High School has a legacy of excellence, consistently performing in the top 3% of high schools in Illinois. The District 115 Board of Education has always joined the community in the support of its public high school. In recent years, the Board has implemented its Portrait of a LearnerStrategic Plan, Metrics, and Board Priorities to ensure the Lake Forest High School's tradition of excellence continues.

Description

The District 115 Board of Education Academic Success priority focuses on ACT performance, Advanced Placement (AP) course completion, and personalized growth to enhance student engagement and achievement.

  By 2028, 78.5% of 11th graders will score 24+ on the ACT English/Reading subtest.

Priority 2: Portrait of a Learner

Description

The District 115 Board of Education Portrait of a Learner priority aims to develop key employability and success skills in every student by embedding Portrait of a Learner competencies into the LFHS experience.

Goals

Description

The District 115 Board of Education Culture and Climate priority aims to foster student belonging and wellness by offering opportunities to pursue passions and interests through extracurriculars, athletics, and activities.

*Meaningful participation is defined as club/extracurricular attendance in events, activities and/or athletic teams at LFHS or other organizations or activities.

The District 115 Board of Education has always understood and embraced the opportunities that its highly-accomplished community of faculty, staff, students, families, and residents provides its public high school. In recent years, the District 115 Board has implemented tools to ensure the tradition of excellence continues.

District Dashboard Tool communicates progress on vision statements and milestones.

Strategic Plan and Metrics adopted.
Key themes include academic excellence, college and career pathway endorsements, One Lake Forest High School statement, ongoing community involvement and attracting and retaining highly-qualified staff.

Community investment and support of Lake Forest High School is a legacy on par with LFHS’s
academic excellence. Over 150 volunteer, community stakeholders participated in the creation of Districts 65, 67, and 115 Portrait of a Learner; the generous ongoing investment and donations of the Lake Forest High School Foundation, Association of Parents and Teachers, Athletic Boosters, and other parent organizations ensure student opportunities continue and most recently, the passage of a referendum to support LFHS’s facility maintenance and update our instructional spaces.
