Fostering a Legacy of Giving

The Spirit of 67 Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It was founded more than 40 years ago by dedicated parents and community members who wanted to help fund educational experiences for students, teachers, and staff that might not be available through the school budget.

Today, the Foundation continues to partner with Lake Forest School District 67 and plays a vital and transformative role in our students’ learning journey.

By the Numbers

• More than $7.0 million has been invested in our students' futures
• Over 935+ unique grants funded
• Over 1,700 students benefit from Spirit grants
• 72.5% family participation rate across all 4 district schools
   

Through our robust grant program, the Spirit brings meaningful educational initiatives into our schools that inspire curiosity, creativity and excellence. These opportunities span across fine arts, science, social studies, STEAM, language arts, SEL, and beyond.

Among our efforts, we support the Kreischer Kids Fund. This is an especially vital grant that provides assistance for students facing financial hardship. This fund ensures access to essentials such as food, school supplies and/or participation in school-sponsored activities so every child has the opportunity to thrive.
