Grants-In-Action
Grants Awarded for 2025-2026
There were 56 grants awarded totaling $216,785 for the 2025-2026 school year, and many of the resources have already impacted our students.
Here are just a few Grants-in-Action:

Cherokee students are enjoying the new pottery wheel added to the art room for their pottery projects. Not only is it a fun way to create art, but it is also a helpful tool in teaching all phases of completing a project.

Classroom Cruisers are stationary bikes used as a regulation tool to help students manage behavior. These Cherokee students are demonstrating how the Cruisers support learning while engaging in physical activity.

As young Everett students begin their reading journey, they use these book bags to carry phonological materials, including specific books and printed materials for parents to support the children’s reading growth at home.

Sheridan students have begun enjoying borrowed artifacts from the N.W. Harris Learning Collection at the Chicago Field Museum. This mini-diorama about sharks is one of several artifacts arriving at the school this year to support the science curriculum.

The new shelving displays in the Sheridan library help students find books of interest. Because the shelving is movable, it also allows staff to rearrange it to suit gatherings and offers flexibility in book displays to attract young readers.

This walkway is part of the Sensory + Pollinator Garden in the Everett courtyard. Native plants and various sensory items provide an outdoor environment that encourages spending time outdoors and exploring nature.

A visiting filmmaker collaborates with Deer Path students to create short films. The students learn all parts of the process, including directing, filming, acting, and editing their scenes for a class film festival to showcase their work.
