Grant Applications
We encourage teachers, students, parents, and community members to apply for grants throughout the year. Before submitting, all applicants should consult with their school’s leadership team and administration.
After applications are submitted:
-
Principals review the proposals.
-
The Spirit Grant Committee—made up of Spirit board members, a Board of Education representative, and District 67 administrative liaisons—reviews, deliberates, and selects grants for approval.
Decisions are based on:
-
The strength of the application
-
Alignment with the Spirit of 67 Foundation’s mission
-
Whether the request can be funded within the school’s budget
Additional Grant Categories
Kreischer’s Kids Fund
This fund was established in honor of Gary Kreischer, a beloved former teacher and principal in District 67 who was deeply involved in student life.
For nearly 20 years, Kreischer’s Kids has supported students facing financial hardship by providing assistance for:
-
Food insecurity
-
School supplies
-
Participation in extracurricular activities
The fund is confidentially administered by District 67 personnel and is available to any student in the district. If you know of a child who may benefit, please contact your school’s administration.
Student Grant Fund Applications
The Spirit is now giving students the opportunity to dream up what they’d like to see in their classrooms and outdoor spaces.
In the libraries, you will now find a new blue mailbox. Next to the mailbox, there are forms you can fill out with any ideas you might have for something the Spirit could provide that would make your school better. The librarians can help answer any questions or put you in contact with someone from the Spirit who will be able to assist you.
You can also fill out the form and submit it online by clicking on this link.
The grant cycle for the 2026-2027 school year has closed. Please check back at a later date for the 2027-2028 grant submission deadline.
