A Welcome Message from Principal Milsk
Sheridan is a neighborhood school of approximately 230 students in grades PreK to 4, including our Community of Learners Early Childhood Program. We pride ourselves in offering a rich, diverse, high-quality educational experience for all learners in a “small-school” atmosphere. Our students and families are surrounded by a dedicated and collaborative staff, as well as countless resources throughout their entire educational journey.
In recent years, our Early Childhood program has greatly expanded in order to best serve our youngest learners throughout District 67. We feel lucky to have the opportunity to be the first educational experience of so many of our students. In the coming year, we are looking forward to the enhancement of a new playground space that is specially designed for our youngest learners. This opportunity, like so many others, is supported by the Spirit of 67 Foundation!
Additionally, we have had a heavy focus on the social emotional well-being of our students by implementing new social emotional curriculum, embedding more play and physical movement time in the day and increasing the time that students are able to work in multi-age groupings known as their Shark Families.
Communication between home and school is important, so please be sure you are connected! District 67 and Sheridan use electronic communications regularly, including a weekly e-newsletter, details about special events, and important announcements. The Sheridan School website and Association of Parents and Teachers (APT) sites also include important information about current and upcoming events.
We are looking forward to a fantastic school year!
