At the May 4 meeting, where new members were sworn in, Zinser was elected Board President, Davis was elected Vice President, and Winebrenner was elected Secretary.

“I know I speak on behalf of our entire Board when I say we are honored and humbled by this opportunity,” Zinser said at the May Board of Education meeting. “It is a big responsibility and we do not take it lightly.”

Burns is a senior consultant at AbbVie who also co-founded Lake Bluff Brewing Company and was previously an adjunct professor at Northwestern University.

“I am so honored and humbled,” he said, “to be on the Board of such an outstanding school, and I am excited to work with the administration, staff, students, community, and other Board Members to continuously improve the holistic educational experience for our students."

Also new to the Board is Schabacker, who is President and Chief Executive Officer of ECRI, a not-for-profit health-care organization.  A board-certified anesthesiologist and intensive-care specialist, he is also an affiliate assistant professor at Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago.

“I am honored by the trust and confidence bestowed upon me by our fellow citizens of Knollwood, Lake Bluff, and Lake Forest,” Schabacker said. “I look forward to serving our community and working diligently with the superintendent, the principal, and the staff at Lake Forest High School to continue to build out an exceptional learning experience for our children."

Venson is a podiatrist who has lived in Lake Forest since 1991 and is the Associate Director of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, which is the surgical certifying board for the podiatry profession. Previously, he was Dean of the California School of Podiatric Medicine in Oakland.

“I am honored by the opportunity to serve the Lake Forest High School community as a member of the District 115 School Board,” he said. “I look forward to addressing challenges and taking advantage of opportunities to ensure we offer the very best experience to our students across all aspects of their educational experience.”

Three departing Board members — David Lane, Ted Moorman, and Tom Nemickas — were honored at the May 4 meeting as they completed their service to the District’s students, staff, and community. “Thank you for the service you have provided,” said Interim Superintendent Constance Collins. “You have helped to make this District the place that it is.”
