Project F_LL/School’s Out Food Drive Fills 250 Bags

Incoming Freshmen Help out With Project Full

Students who will be freshmen in the fall help sort food collected for the Project F_LL/School's Out Food Drive.

Tri-district Project F_LL partnered with the District 67 APT on the APT’s annual School’s Out Food Drive, which benefits North Chicago Community Partners (NCCP).

Some 250 bags of nonperishable and kid-friendly items collected in May will be donated to NCCP, which will distribute the bags to families in June, said Becky Nagel, Chair of the District 67 APT Executive Board’s Community Service Committee.

“We are happy to help NCCP leverage our local resources and partner with them,” she said. “We are also grateful to D67 families and students for their generosity and participation in the annual School's Out Food Drive.”

Project F_LL, which only works with U, meanwhile, will continue its work in Districts 65, 67, and 115 in the 2021-2022 school year.

To date, its highlights include:

  • Collecting and distributing 50 bags of nonperishable food in March.
  • Distributing 239 bags of nonperishable food with help from 40 student and 35 adult volunteers in April.
  • Distributing 233 bags of food with help from 31 volunteers in May.

So far this year, Project F_LL has raised more than $9,000. To donate, visit the Project F_LL website.
