What’s Cooking at CROYA?

Paws for Patrick

CROYA hosted Paws for Patrick therapy dogs during after-school drop-in last month with Camille Stohlgren (from left) introducing Lexi Rose to Erik Hense and Jessie Bess.

CROYA — the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff middle school and high school youth organization — will be closed Dec. 20 to 24 for Winter Break and then open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, through Thursday, Dec. 30, said Manager Todd Nahigian. Here’s a look at what else is going on at CROYA.

  • CROYA took 80 high school students to Camp Henry Horner in November for the 2021 Fall Retreat, which was led by 21 youth and 11 adults, Mr. Nahigian said. CROYA retreats, he added, began in 1987 and continue to be some of the most meaningful and significant events that CROYA provides for students.
  • CROYA’s Friendsgiving on Nov. 24 was attended by alumni from six different graduation years.
  • CROYA hosted Paws for Patrick Emotional Support Dogs at the High School Meeting on Dec. 8. This meeting was about lowering stress before final exams.
  • CROYA will celebrate the countdown to the Noon Year from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, at CROYA, 400 Hastings Road, Lake Forest.
