An Update from Dr. Collins — Thank You for the Warm Welcome!
To Our District 67 and District 115 Students, Staff, and Community,

With just a couple of days under my belt as Interim Superintendent, I want to thank you for the warm welcome I have received as I've begun moving into my new role.

Last week was a busy one as we all re-established routines following Spring Break, while our teachers, staff, and administrators also jumped straight into planning and preparation.

In District 67, teachers, staff, and administration welcomed students back to AVA and hybrid in-person learning. Our team also refined our supervised remote learning option and met with the District 67 Planning Committee (comprised of teachers, specialists, parents, and administrators), with the goal of building our in-person learning plans for the 2021-2022 school year. You'll find an update regarding their efforts HERE.

In District 115, our staff members were not only teaching students remotely, but preparing to welcome over 1,100 students back to the Lake Forest High School building for in-person learning on Monday, April 5. Dr. Holland also shared a thoughtful email that includes many details regarding this week's transition. I strongly encourage LFHS students, their parents, and guardians to review it before school on Monday.

Please find a few other quick updates from me in the following video – shot, produced, and edited by LFHS senior and New Media student, Lauren Fabbri.

Thanks to everyone for making me feel so at home during my first few days. I am looking forward to working together with you in the months ahead.

Sincerely,

Dr. Constance Collins
Interim Superintendent
