Spirit of 67 Grants

Dear District 67 Staff,

The Spirit of 67 Foundation's mission is to raise funds and acquire resources to provide enriching educational and cultural experiences for the students, parents, faculty and staff of Lake Forest School District 67 that might not otherwise be provided.  We look forward to partnering with you again this year to do just that!

FOUNDER'S FUND GRANTS *

In honor of our founding president, Dorothy Chantler and the founding members of the Spirit of 67 Foundation, a fund has been created as a means to address time-sensitive and important opportunities that arise outside of the normal Spirit of 67 annual grant cycle.  Anyone may apply for a grant from this fund.  Each of the five elementary school campuses have a total of $2,000 for potential grants awarded throughout the school year.   Each individual request must be under $1,000 and must be time-sensitive in nature.  The funds can be used on number of smaller grants collectively but the total awarded amount under the Founders Fund cannot exceed $2,000 per building.  All ideas and proposals that can be preplanned should be submitted through the regular January Spirit of 67 grant process. Each Founder's Fund Grant request must be reviewed and supported by the building principal and then will be evaluated by the Grants Committee to ensure alignment with the Spirit of 67 Foundation mission.

*Note: Founders Grants can be submitted at any time.

GRANT SEASON IS COMING FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR!

Each year around this time teachers, students and parents across our district think big and take the first step to putting their innovative ideas into action by applying for Spirit of 67 Grants.  District 67 schools are fortunate to have talented staff, parents and students with great ideas!  Over the past five years, the Spirit of 67 has awarded 126 grants worth almost $1.4 million to enrich the District of 67.  We encourage anyone and everyone with an innovative idea, that is supported by the school administration, to submit a grant application.  All grant applications are reviewed by the Spirit of 67 Grants Committee prior to being presented to the Spirit of 67 Foundation Board for approval. No idea is too big or too small and everyone is encouraged to think how the Spirit of 67 can enrich their classroom or programing.  Gather your ideas, dream about enriching our schools and put ideas into action by submitting a Spirit of 67 Grant application!  Grant Applications are due January 30, 2020 at 3pm to your building principal. Your school principal will bring all applications to the District 67 administrative team meeting the following week to review each application for curriculum, technology and overall general adherence to District 67 goals prior to forwarding to the Spirit of 67.

From the beginning of February through March the committee will meet multiple times a week to assess each grant based on its merits and alignment with our mission. The culmination of this work is Grant Day on April 22, when the grant awards will be announced across this district.
