About Us

Welcome to Cherokee Elementary School! As Principal, I am privileged to partner with staff, students, and families to create a safe, challenging, and nurturing school environment. Together, these groups make Cherokee an outstanding place for students to learn and grow.

Inspiration is a major theme at Cherokee. Students are inspired to ask questions and drive their learning experiences through inquiry-based science and social studies units. Cherokee is home to the district’s elementary Mandarin program, which immerses students in Chinese language and culture. Spanish is another wonderful language option for students. The school’s Inspiration Zone provides an environment in which students can develop 21st century skills through exploration, innovation, and collaboration. The word “inspirational” perfectly describes the Cherokee staff. These amazing professionals dedicate tremendous amounts of time and effort to provide enriching and engaging learning opportunities for students. Families provide inspiration by volunteering at school, being active in the Cherokee APT, and offering generous donations through the Spirit of 67 Foundation. Most inspiring of all are the Cherokee students, who innovate, take risks, and embody the district’s vision of "learning without limits."

Please use this website to learn more about the exciting things that we are doing as a school, and feel free to contact me with questions or comments at any time. I look forward to hearing from you!
