Voluntary COVID-19 Staff and Student Testing
The first two weeks of the school year have also included voluntary, free-of-charge COVID-19 rapid testing for District 67 staff and students. The testing took place for staff during the week of August 31-September 4, and for students the week of September 7-11. We are grateful for the role of our healthcare partner Passport Health in making this an accessible and hassle-free process for our school community.
A Moment to Celebrate
With all of the activity underway, I also want to take a moment to celebrate as we anticipate welcoming our hybrid in-person learning students to our buildings tomorrow. Our leadership team has worked tirelessly to reach this point by developing detailed health and safety protocols, offering extensive professional development, preparing our buildings, hiring, scheduling, enhancing our technology infrastructure and training, orchestrating transportation routes and schedules, hosting principal town halls, and providing ongoing communication to keep all informed. As a community, you have been patient, and you have been our partners, providing invaluable feedback along the way. Thank you.
The Road Ahead
For months, we have referred to our 2020-2021 return-to-learning journey as "The Road to Reopening." Tomorrow, we reach our destination and a new starting line. I ask for your continued partnership as we navigate the road ahead. There will undoubtedly be twists and turns, but I am confident in our District team of teachers, staff, and administration. We are ready to bring our very best to our District 67 students and families in the school year that lies ahead.
