Dear Parents and Guardians of LFHS Juniors and Seniors,
As we partner in supporting the education and success of your student, we are constantly considering ways to better ensure student preparedness for the next phase of their education. As a school, we believe it is important to do as much as we can to take ownership of the ways we support our students. This year, we will offer an ACT Test Prep Course in the fall and an SAT Test Prep Course in the winter. Both courses will be free of charge to junior LFHS students. The ACT Test Prep Course will begin on October 5, 2019, and targets the December 14, 2019, ACT Test offered at Lake Forest High School. The SAT Test Prep Course will begin on January 25, 2020, and targets the April 7, 2020, SAT Test that takes place at Lake Forest High School during the school day. If a student is unable to attend these sessions, there are online options that may suit your student's needs. ACT and SAT have created their own online courses. The ACT online course costs $39.95 for six months of access while the SAT online course is free through Khan Academy.
Students registered for the LFHS ACT Test Prep course will receive support in English: Reading and Writing, Science, and Math. Additionally, students will learn testing strategies to support their success on the test. Classes will meet Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Students are strongly encouraged to attend every session. Register for LFHS ACT Test Prep Course. If you are absent for two or more of the course dates below, you will be required to return your study guide or pay for the cost of the book ($20.30).
Registration for the ACT Test Prep course does not mean that students are automatically registered for the December 14, 2019 ACT test. Please register your student for the ACT test no later than September 15, 2019. You can use this ACT test Registration link to register.
