On behalf of the Junior Class and the LFHS APT Prom Committee, we are pleased to present Prom 2020, You Hold the Key. The Junior Class Student Council has been working tirelessly to plan a very special evening.

Student holding Prom invitation

Tickets are $95 each and should be available online when school is back in session through Monday, April 20. Ticket sales will close at midnight. All LFHS juniors and seniors will receive a Prom invitation mailed to their home. This year’s invitation was designed by Julia Chang.

Students can designate with whom they would like to sit with at a table for 12 individuals. Prior to purchasing your ticket online, please work together to identify a maximum of 12 people at your table and designate a Table Captain.

Prom Key

When purchasing tickets, you will be asked for the name of your Table Captain, which will determine where you sit. Table Captains will be asked to list everyone (must be 12) at the table.

If you are a table captain, please do not purchase your tickets until you know all individuals who will be sitting at your table.

If you do not designate with whom you would like to sit, a convivial table will be arranged for you!

LFHS Juniors and Seniors may invite underclassmen.

Guests from outside LFHS require Dean approval; a Non-LFHS Prom Guest Authorization Form must be completed and approved by April 17, 2020. You may pick up the form in the Deans’ Office or download it HERE.

Student holding Prom Tshirt

At the time of purchasing your Prom ticket, you may opt to purchase a commemorative t-shirt for $10. This year’s shirt was designed by Lindley Wiesner! Prom t-shirts will be handed out during lunches on April 29 and 30 in the commons.

Please consider the menu before making your meal selection: Menu.

If you need to complete an allergy form, the form can be found here: Allergy Form

Red Carpet Event

The Red Carpet begins at 5:30 pm. Any student who wishes to do so may walk the Red Carpet. Photographs of the Red Carpet and the entire Prom event will be taken by VIP Photographers. Photos will be available the week after Prom.

Project Safe Prom Transportation

It is required that all guests attending Prom ride the motor coaches to and from the event. Due to limited parking availability, carpooling to LFHS is strongly encouraged. Coach busses begin departing at 6:30 PM. Coach busses are generously provided by our donors. If you would like to donate to Project Safe Prom, please use this link.

Facts about Prom

  • Each year the Jr. Class Reps select a theme for the prom. Students design artwork based on the theme which is then carried through t-shirts, invitations, prom red carpet, and venue decorations. This is total student driven event supported by the LFHS staff and APT.
  • LFHS students began taking coach buses to Chicago in early 1980’s.
  • The "Project Safe Prom" fundraising campaign was initiated in 2002 to fund this safe transportation for all Prom attendees.
  • Each year, nearly 800 students walk a red carpet making their grand entrance to the waiting public before boarding the 18-20 coach buses.
  • Parents, community members, faculty and families watch the prom red carpet promenade from bleachers which are set up on the front lawn.

Project Safe Prom raises funds to provide safe, reliable transportation for our students to and from the Prom venue. Each year, Lake Forest High School parents, alumni, and community members demonstrate their commitment by donating to this campaign. The Jr. Class also contributes from their own class monies to this cause. Please consider making your donation today!
