TIMELINE FOR 2020-21 INCOMING FRESHMAN REGISTRATION
Step 1: Pre-Registration
The first step in the process is to pre-register your student. This information will be imported into our student information system and allow us to begin planning for the upcoming school year. You will want to return to this page after completing the pre-registration process.
Pre-registration Deadline: Wednesday, January 29, 2019 - A reminder to parents to complete the pre-registration process by Wednesday, January 29 in order for students to meet with counselors to select courses for next school year (SEE STEP 4 BELOW).
Please note: parents who currently have students registered at LFHS can use their existing login and password to pre-register their incoming Freshman.
Step 2: Review Curriculum Videos
These videos describe the curriculum offerings for freshmen within each department. Watch them as many times as you want and bring questions to the Scout Experience for Instructional Directors to answer.
Step 3: Attend the Scout Experience
Thursday, January 23, 6:30 - 8:30pm
Fieldhouse & Competition Gym
LFHS East Campus, 1285 N. McKinley Rd
(Shuttle buses will be available at the City of Lake Forest
remote lot at the corner of Scott and McKinley Rd. beginning at 6pm)
We are planning a fun night for students and families that will highlight all we have to offer at LFHS. This event will feature student and administrator presentations in the Competition Gym followed by a Clubs and Activities exhibit in the Fieldhouse and tours of the school. It is a highly interactive evening designed to show future Scouts all of the great opportunities that await them.
Step 4: Meet with a Counselor to plan classes for freshman year (February, 2020)
LFHS Counselors will visit the Lake Bluff and Deer Path Middle Schools in February to meet with families and enter course requests. Families will be sent a link in early February to make an appointment for one of these meetings. Families of students in private schools will be sent a link to make an appointment for a scheduling meeting at Lake Forest High School.
Please note: Students with an IEP will be contacted by their 8th grade special education case manager to schedule an IEP transition meeting at Lake Forest High School to review and finalize supports and select courses. Students with 504 plans will be contacted by the case managers at the middle school to schedule an annual review of their 504 plan and select courses.
