Please join us for our Shine Bright 67 Winter Light Tour if you will be decorating your front yard for the season! Similar to our Spook Your Space tour, we will make a map for our district families to use. If you choose to enter your yard, please "activate" any display lights or music on the evenings of December 18-27. Due to the anticipated popularity of this event, we will only be taking our first 50 entries. Please enter by November 26th. Thank you for your participation!
**Keep an eye on Friday Newsletters for details; we will once again be encouraging our families to stay in their cars. For any families living within walking distance of entries, please follow all current CDC guidelines regarding social distancing and masks.
To help ease the burden of planning, shopping and cooking for families who live and staff who work in our school Districts, we are now participating in a special program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
For the week of Thanksgiving, we will only have one pickup on Tuesday, November 24. You'll have enough food to cover breakfast and lunch for the children in your family for seven days. We will resume the regular pickup schedule of Tuesdays and Thursdays the week of November 30.
Despite the challenging times, this year's APT/Mothers Trust Foundation Help Us Give Suppers food drive was able to deliver 520 Thanksgiving meal bags to five local food pantries and provide $1,650 in Jewel gift cards to the pantries for their use in purchasing fresh turkeys to finish out the meal.
This could not have been possible without the generosity shown by our community, and the support of our APT volunteers!
