Our school community joined us on February 8, at 6:00pm for building tours followed by a LET’S TALK: D115 Referendum community educational event. A panel including Dr. Erin Lenart, the District’s architect of record, the Director of Facilities, and the District 115 Board of Education President discussed the financial implications, anticipated benefits, uses of the funds, and answered questions.

The LET'S TALK | Resources for Struggling Student Learners presentation was on February 2, 2023 at 7:00 pm in the Board Room, hosted by Superintendent Dr. Matthew Montgomery.

All students have different strengths and areas for growth specific to learning styles and academic achievement. During our presentation, we explained the available resources that all students can access through our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support framework for times when they struggle to make friends, understand a new concept, have trouble concentrating, are unsure how to start a project, need help studying for an exam or lack organization and time management skills. We answered your questions about resources to support your child also explained the process if your child may need additional assistance through a 504 Plan or an Individualized Education Plan.

Dr. Montgomery was joined by Dr. Jeff McHugh, Dr. Jenny Sterpin, Dr. Patrick Sassen, John Maher, David Hain, JoAnn Ford-Halvorsen, and Dr. John Frampton.

Dr. John Frampton is a co-founder of FPS, and is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in working with adolescents and adults with a variety of emotional and behavioral needs. Dr. Frampton has over 20 years of experience serving clients in private practice, school systems as an educational leader, and as an adjunct professor.

District 67 parents and guardians are invited to the District’s first LET’S TALK program on Wednesday October 6 at 7:15 PM. This event will be held in person, livestreamed, and recorded and shared for parents and guardians who are not able to attend.

LET’S TALK is a new series offered to members of our school community as a way of creating time and space for conversation about timely topics.

Our first LET’S TALK will address adolescent use of social media and the current TikTok Challenge, featuring clinical psychologist Dr. Danielle Black and a panel of DPM administrators.

Let's talk traffic! Parents and community members joined us for coffee and conversation about the traffic issues at Deer Path Middle School on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 9:00 am. This was held in person, livestreamed, and recorded for those parents and guardians who are not able to attend.

Our panel featured Lake Forest Chief of Police Karl Walldorf, Joe Mobile of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation, and our DPM Administrative Team who discussed DPM traffic concerns and seek community feedback on proposed improvements. The session will also include an opportunity for Q&A.
