    Other Career Exploration Opportunities

For students, deciding what career to pursue can be an overwhelming task. Students who have a general or specific idea of the career they would like to pursue have an easier time choosing a college major, and getting started right away into the coursework required for that career. Our desire is to help students explore their strengths and interests, and to encourage self-awareness in these areas. We encourage career related internships and summer jobs, and work with our students to help them through the process of finding a field of study that fits their unique strengths and interests. College/Career Resource Center

The CRC contains many books and resources on career exploration such as: The Occupational Outlook Handbook which is based on John Holland's career theory and can be checked out at the desk.

    Campbell Interest and Skills Inventory

This well researched evaluation tool helps students by asking questions about their strengths and interests. They are scored by comparing these to the strengths and interests of those who have reported being happy with their jobs. All Sophomores take this inventory with their counselor in the spring and receive the results in the early fall of junior year.
