District 67 Annual Notice of Non-Discrimination

  • It is the policy of Lake Forest Elementary School District 67 not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, sexual orientation, ancestry, age, gender identity, status of being homeless, immigration status, order of protection status, or actual or potential marital or parental status, including pregnancy, in employment practices and its vocational programs, services or activities, and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, and other state and federal law.

    Lake Forest Elementary District 67 offers classes and infuses in many career and technical education program areas across the content areas. There are no prerequisites and admissions criteria for these courses. Lake Forest Elementary District 67 will take steps to ensure that lack of English language skills will not be a barrier to admission and participation in all educational and vocational programs.

    The District complies with all laws and applicable regulations that prohibit discrimination, harassment, and retaliation by and in the District, including the following:

    3. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
    4. Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, 42 U.S.C. & 2000d et seq.

    11. Illinois Equal Pay Act of 2003, 820 ILCS 112/
    12. Illinois Genetic Information Privacy Act (GINA), 410 ILCS 513/ and Title II of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA), 42 U.S.C. & 2000ff e seq.


    For students, this includes the requirement that no person, including a District employee or agent, student, or other community member, shall discriminate against, harass, intimidate, or bully a student based on actual or perceived basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, sexual orientation, ancestry, age, gender identity, status of being homeless, immigration status, order of protection status, or actual or potential marital or parental status, including pregnancy, or any other distinguishing characteristic identified in Board policy 7:10, Equal Educational Opportunities.

    For employees, this includes the requirement that no person, including another District employee or agent, or another community member, shall discriminate against or engage in harassment or abusive conduct against an employee based on an employee’s actual or perceivedbasis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, sexual orientation, ancestry, age, gender identity, status of being homeless, immigration status, order of protection status, or actual or potential marital or parental status, including pregnancy, nor shall they engage in harassment or abusive conduct based on an individual’s other protected status identified in Board policy 5:10, Equal Employment Opportunity and Minority Recruitment.  

    No student, parent/guardian, employee, or other member of the District community will be subjected to retaliation as prohibited under any law or Board policy, including those laws identified above. Retaliation is an adverse act imposed because a person has asserted a right or participated in a process involving the assertion of a right, including reporting a violation of law or Board policy or participating in the grievance processes used to process complaints based on alleged violations of law or Board policy. 

    Any person who believes any student, employee, or third party or the District generally has engaged in conduct prohibited by the laws cited above or Board policy, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or who has inquiries about the application of the laws cited above or Board policy should contact a District 67 Title IX Coordinator or email titleix@lfschools.net.

Also, Lake Forest is one of twenty-two high schools who partner with the College of Lake County Tech Campus to provide hands-on learning in the areas of:

    The District’s career and technical programs are open to all eligible students in the district. The prerequisites and admissions criteria for these courses include that students take the foundation level course in order to navigate through the next higher level course offerings. Other next higher level course offerings also include our dual credit courses below with our university partnerships:

    • Spanish (Lake Forest College)

    • CPR/Lifeguarding (College of Lake County)

    • Accounting (College of Lake County)

    • Stagecraft (College of Lake County)
